What a Week !

My hubby and I both teach.  He is done teaching in 4 school days, and I am JEALOUS! I teach until June 28th.  I am so sad to be in the thick of it, while listening to him make summer plans with our kinderbear who graduates on Friday! But I am going to wear my big girl panties and be happy for them!
Monster Trucks Demolition Derbey
Here is what made me uber happy over the last few weeks. We did a Double Digit Demolition Derby, and Oh My Word the kids about wet their pants with joy. No literally, one of my students  was doing the pee pee wiggle in his chair while doing his math. I asked him if he had to go potty, he said yes but wanted to find out which car was today’s derby winner! How cute… (I did convince him to go potty.) This was what he was going crazy over. The car with the most regrouping is the winning car.  I wrote more here if you are dying to know about 2 weeks of the best math ever!

I finally took some pictures of the cutest little Smart Art freebie! My students loved learning about birds and nouns at the same time. My students understood pronouns in a heartbeat using this booklet/art project.

Today I enrolled the kinderbear at my school.  I cannot believe he is old enough to come to my school, and will be learning in the classroom next door.  I mean who said he could grow up? This is his last night of Kindergarten homework. I am so proud of him… 180 sight words, fluent to ten in adding and subtracting, and reading! Praise the Lord my NICU baby did it.

  1. LOVE the Demolition Derby idea... how cute is that?! And thanks for the freebie download. What a great way to practice nouns. I can't wait to use it next year. :)

  2. Cute ideas! My little kindergartener is finishing up the year, too. I wish my son had the desire to learn to read. It breaks a little piece of my reading specialist heart every time I try to get him to read and he pitches a fit. He know what's expected of him, but will not put forth the effort to go beyond. I'm gonna blame my husband for this character flaw... LOL! I also entered the win the mystery box, what a cool concept!

  5. Ok, the "hubby" here (aka the truth police). There's something missing from this post. What could it be...? Oh, yeah. You left off the part where you are going to be off in July with us. Oh, and the part where you were already off in November and March while we were at school. Every day. On another note, our little guy has rocked kindergarten! So proud of him!
