Holy Cow. I am going to Vegas for reals!
Yep!
I have been kind of blocking it out of my mind and eating a lot of cookies to avoid thinking about my fear of flying {crashing}.
But I’m over the fear.
I am ready to embrace that I will get on that plane and keep it in the air with prayer!
So you all have to pray too. I cannot keep that plane in the air on my own.
On Wed. from about 10am PST until 11:15am PST I want you praying! OK?
Until then, I am packing like crazy, shopping like a mad woman, and prepping my men for a Momma-Free 4 days. Translation….. Momma needs a vacation and I want to make it fun for everyone!
I do all this so that everybody LOVES it when mommy leaves.
{Translation: Mommy is always laying the groundwork for a super secret girls weekend in Cabo San Lucas }
In doing a little blissful prep, there are no tears from my little guy when I leave. He knows he has so much to look forward to.
There are also no tears from my hubby when he knows that I have lovingly prepped him for a less-stressed time of 96 hours {4 days and 3 nights} of being a short-term single dad.
The hubs and I are a good team, and when half of the team is just gone, its disconcerting to have to remember everything. So this prep means there is just less for him to remember. Plus, if I lay out underwear my little guy won’t try to leave the house commando style.
So I have 5 things I do when I leave on a trips!
I want all the comforts of home with me! I have come to terms with having to squeeze all of my lotions and potions into 2 ounce bottles. Now I have MY FAVORITE body wash not just what Target sells in the travel section.
This list is still up on my fridge from my last trip. My hubby is not an idiot and can pack a lunch for our child. But, he asked for a few lists so he doesn’t have to remember EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING and I am happy to leave them.
This is one of the things that I love to do for my son! I don’t leave home much, but when I do I take a little time to leave a lot of love behind. He gets 3 little gifts over the course of the day and in total I spent $65 for my 4 day trip. I could have spent less if he was in school. However, since it’s summer I bought a few more things to keep him busier and happier. I label the bags so my little guy knows what bag to open at what time. Morning, tub, and bedtime.
Bath time is a battle. He likes to take a bath, but does not want to end his video game time, so he carries on until he hits the water. Then he is a delight. These tub toys will ensure Daddy does not have to fight to get him in the tub.
Kohls is a great place to grab $5 lovies and books to match. Super fun!
I, for sure, won’t bore you with what’s inside these cards for several reasons. First, some of it is boring, mushy stuff. Second, my mother might be reading this, so I won’t share the other things I wrote. Reminding him of what he has to look forward to when I get home is always fun!
My best friend is always going through her “Oh Sh*t” list before we go anywhere together. The name alone cracks me up and it’s stuck with me. Making lists is key. I found the best little vacation planner pack. I love the colors and it’s fun to check off boxes! I got them {here} on Organizing Homelife.
So that’s it! This Mommy is really getting ready for her trip!!!! Vegas, here I come!
I am going to enjoy the sun pool-side, hang out with dear blogging friends, and shop! Speaking of shopping.
While I am gone I am throwing a sale with my friends from Primary Chalkboard! Come enjoy 20% off everything in my store! Plus, every day I am doing a “Double or Nothing”giveaway on Facebook! You can win 2 units each day!
Oh my gosh, I hope to see you all in Vegas and if not I’ll meet you back here on this blog with more ideas to share! Love ya!
